SEMbuz exists because most SEM tool reviews online are written by people who logged into the tool once, took screenshots, and ranked features off the marketing page.
That’s not what we do. Every review here is from someone who pays for the tool out of their own pocket and uses it weekly across real client work.
Who we are
SEMbuz is a small team of working SEOs and PPC managers who have been doing search engine marketing since the early days of Google AdWords. We have burned through every tool you have heard of (and a lot you have not), kept the ones that earn their keep, and quietly canceled the rest.
The work behind every review is real client work — done for real businesses with real budgets. We do not name the businesses on this site (most prefer privacy), but the workflows and verdicts you read here come from running the tools day-in, day-out across diverse client situations.
Who SEMbuz is for
Sweet spot: in-house marketers at SMBs ($1M-$20M revenue) and solo freelance SEOs/PPC managers picking their first or second paid tool. Someone Googling “ahrefs vs semrush for small agency” with a credit card ready and 20 minutes to make a decision.
Who we are not for: enterprise teams with $50k+ annual tool budgets (you do not need our help, you have procurement). Total SEO beginners (start with the free tutorials at Search Engine Journal first — come back when you have a tool budget).
How we test
- Every tool reviewed has at least 30 days of paid daily use behind the review
- Comparisons use the same seed keyword/site/task on both tools, with screenshots
- Pricing is verified the day the post goes live and updated quarterly
- If we change our mind about a tool, we update the post and add a “Last updated” line at the top
